The Details
Quick story! I ordered a gorgeous velvet green dress for my Maternity Photos; however, that dress looked like a hot mess and didn’t fit over my baby bump at all. My boobs looked like they were about to burst out from the v-neck neckline and the side slit on the dress came so high up you could literally see my crotch. It was not flattering at all. Safe to say we had a good laugh about it.
I quickly ordered a new dress from Amazon. The dress arrived 2 days before our Maternity Shoot – just in time! The weather was not the greatest on the day of our Maternity Shoot. It was slightly drizzling and snowing. We had to move quick, so our hair wouldn’t start to curl. The new dress I ordered was pretty and made me feel like an Evergreen Pine Christmas tree with a bow. LOL the end.
Here are all of my favorite shots from our Maternity Shoot. We had our photos taken on Wednesday November 24, 2020. I think every mama should do a maternity shoot near the end of their pregnancy. It is a time to feel beautiful and show off your belly that’s housing your precious angel children. In the photo I am 38 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I felt huge at this point, there was absolutely no more room for baby to grow.
As stated before in my previous post titled “My Pregnancy Journey” we had weekly Ultrasounds near the end of the pregnancy and every week the Ultrasound tech would say the same thing… She would say, “There’s just no more room. She’s really smooched in there.” All I could respond with was a laugh and the words, “Oh trust me, I know.” It cracked me up every time because it validated my thoughts exactly for how I was feeling.
The last month of pregnancy you are amazed at the size your belly can stretch to when you compare it to an earlier pregnancy bump photo. I am a pretty petite woman the way it is, so adding that belly was a challenge. People sometimes said I wasn’t that big, but I am 5’ 2’’ and normally a size XXS/XS/00 so I felt huge myself. It was a lot of work carrying a little baby for 9 months with my petite frame.
Where + Who?
Our photos were taken at Hansen Tree Farm in Ramsey, MN by the very talented Madalyn Vermeer just 4 days before meeting Nevaeh. Madalyn was our Wedding Photographer and we just loved her so much that it seemed only right to have her document another big life event of ours. She did not disappoint! Madalyn is a very sweet, kind, and down to earth person. We are so blessed that we found her and have a new friend in her because of her business.
Josh and I love her because she listens to what we are wanting to capture and exceeds our expectations. If you are looking for a photographer, she’s your gal! I also asked her to do an in home session with Nevaeh when she was only 1 week old. Those photos will come in another upcoming post, so keep checking back!
